Welcome back The Black Keys ! En 2004, leur popularitĂ© Ă©tait dĂ©jĂ immense et l'ABClub avait affichĂ© complet en un rien de temps. Le show avait dĂ» dâailleurs migrer, Ă lâĂ©poque, vers l'ABBox. En 2006, ils avaient remis ça et avaient de nouveau jouĂ© Ă guichets fermĂ©s dans ce mĂȘme ABBox. Forts dâun nouvel LP avec âBrothersâ, dâun premier vrai tube radio avec âTighten Upâ et dâun concert enflammĂ© au dernier Rock Werchter, Dan Auerbach et Patrick Carney reviennent sur nos terres en novembre. De Morgen Ă©crivait Ă propos de leur rĂ©cent passage Ă Rock Werchter : « Leur musique dĂ©rivĂ©e du blues sonnait comme il se doit : crue comme un bout de viande fraĂźchement coupĂ©, plus crade qu'un vieux pourceau, et avec l'Ă©nergie de batteries rechargĂ©es Ă bloc. (****) ». âBrothersâ est leur sixiĂšme opus et a Ă©tĂ© enregistrĂ© dans le lĂ©gendaire studio Muscle Shoals (dans lequel sont Ă©galement passĂ©s Aretha Franklin et Wilson Pickett). Produit pour partie par Danger Mouse, il a Ă©tĂ© mixĂ© par Tchad Blake. Les Black Keys avaient dĂ©jĂ collaborĂ© avec ce dernier pour leur projet BLAKROC oĂč leur blues primal se mĂȘlait aux voix les plus marquantes du hip-hop dont Mos Def, Q-Tip et RZA. Sur âBrothersâ, on entend par ailleurs rejaillir le cĂŽtĂ© soul que Dan Auerbach laissait dĂ©jĂ transparaĂźtre sur son premier disque solo âKeep It Hidâ.
