DerriĂšre The Bear That Wasn't â un nom empruntĂ© Ă un livre pour enfants de Frank Tashlin datant de 46 â se cache le discret Nils Verresen. Avec sa guitare acoustique et sa voix d'ange, il nous avait dĂ©jĂ fait forte impression en ouvrant pour Kimya Dawson. Parmi ses influences, il cite volontiers Gravenhurst, Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver et Elliott Smith. Son premier album, âAnd So It Is Morning Dewâ, sorti au printemps recĂšle comme toujours de trĂšs beaux titres de chansons comme âThe Little Witch And The Brave Boy Are Going To Venusâ ou âThe Exciting Adventures of A Bad Bet, A Bad Alliteration And Mister Consequencesâ. Mais plus important encore, son disque regorge de jolies mĂ©lodies dans la lignĂ©e de celles proposĂ©es dans l'Ă©mission Duyster sur Studio Brussel. Parmi les perles, on retiendra âWinterwanderingâ quâon aimerait pouvoir se passer indĂ©finiment en boucle. Son passage aux FeeĂ«rieĂ«n s'intercale au milieu d'une tournĂ©e sur le sol belge, intitulĂ©e « 365 jours », pour laquelle notre ours, armĂ© de sa guitare acoustique et de son vĂ©lo, recherche 365 familles prĂȘtes Ă l'hĂ©berger pour une nuit. En Ă©change, Nils leur offre un concert Ă domicile. Ce projet original fera l'objet d'un film conçu par les rĂ©alisateurs de âPart of the Weekend Never Diesâ, le documentaire sur la tournĂ©e de Soulwax.
21h45 - Sons of Noel and Adrian
CentrĂ© sur les personnalitĂ©s de Tom Cowan (fils d'Adrian) et Jacob Richardson (fils de Noel), ce groupe de folk expĂ©rimental originaire de Brighton se compose de douze musiciens. On est immĂ©diatement tombĂ© sous le charme, Ă l'Ă©coute du titre 'The Wreck is Not a Boat' (extrait de l'album du mĂȘme nom) sur MySpace. La voix profondĂ©ment Ă©mouvante de Tom Cowan est loin d'ĂȘtre leur seul atout. Ils peuvent Ă©galement compter sur la richesse musicale de leurs arrangements (violoncelle, violon, trompette, clarinette,âŠ). Le groupe a dĂ©jĂ eu lâoccasion de tourner aux cĂŽtĂ©s de David Grubbs, Peggy Sue, Rothko et mĂȘme, par deux fois, avec Mumford & Sons. A noter quâils ont encore partagĂ© la prestigieuse scĂšne du Royal Festival Hall avec Laura Marling et celle du Barbican de Londres avec Jaga Jazzist et Efterklang. Leur dernier effort en date est lâEP âRiversâ paru en 2010. Ce concert sera leur premier sur le sol belge. Gageons quâil se rĂ©vĂšlera impressionnant.
