Le MC hip-hop hollandais présente son premier album en solo
La formation hip-hop hollandaise Pete Philly & Perquisite avait dĂ©jĂ fait forte impression au cours de la derniĂšre dĂ©cennie. Son âMistery Repeatsâ Ă©tait, ni plus ni moins, l'album qui manquait Ă la discographie de A Tribe Called Quest et du Jazzmatazz de Guru. A l'Ă©poque, le combo avait Ă©galement partagĂ© la scĂšne avec Kanye West (notamment Ă l'AB en 2006), Saian Supa Crew et James Brown.
Mais revenons Ă 2011. Les chemins de Perquisite et Pete Philly se sont depuis sĂ©parĂ©s et Philly sort, cette annĂ©e â le 30 septembre pour ĂȘtre prĂ©cis â son premier opus solo chez Anti/PIAS. Il y aura consacrĂ© deux annĂ©es de travail. Via son site web www.petephilly.com, on avait dĂ©jĂ pu dĂ©couvrir une sĂ©rie de premiers jets sous le nom de 'Open Loops'. Des essais qu'il a peaufinĂ©s avec l'aide de son partenaire DJ PCM, pour accoucher d'un album intense et singulier, intitulĂ© âONEâ. Sur ce dernier, Pete Philly confirme qu'il est loin d'ĂȘtre un musicien ordinaire. Dans ses textes et ses flows accrocheurs, il laisse mĂȘme transparaĂźtre l'ensemble de ses centres d'intĂ©rĂȘt (de la poĂ©sie Ă la philosophie, en passant par l'art, la politique et l'amour). C'est donc un plaisir de retrouver Pete !
