Great songs, no rules. VoilĂ un titre qui aurait pu parfaitement convenir au quatriĂšme album de Neeka. La ressemblance avec le slogan d'une cĂ©lĂšbre marque de whisky Ă©tait, malheureusement, trop grande. Pour continuer dans ce registre, on notera que Neeka est arrivĂ©e Ă parfaitement maturation. GrĂące Ă sa collaboration avec Mint, elle sâest attirĂ©e les faveurs du producteur John Morand (Sparklehorse, Jason Molina, Royal Trux). L'AmĂ©ricain avait la distance et la bouteille nĂ©cessaires pour fournir Ă ses nouvelles compositions lâĂ©crin qui leur convenait. Soit un compromis entre ses deux excellents premiers albums, 'Candy Comfort' (2002) et 'Women Wonderland' (2006). Plus affĂ»tĂ© que le premier, moins complexe que le deuxiĂšme, ce nouvel opus sâappuie sur une base folk et de jolies voix, sâoffrant ci et lĂ quelques incartades espiĂšgles. Neeka est parfaitement Ă l'aise dans son Ă©poque, ce quâelle fait Ă©tant totalement dans lâair du temps.
PremiĂšre partie ECHO BEATTY - solo
Echo Beatty est une jeune singer-songwriter talentueuse, au ton trĂšs personnel. AidĂ©e de ses âbeloved beardsâ (Jules Lemmens, Steven Holsbeeks, Mich Beniest et Jochem Baelus), elle parvient Ă crĂ©er un univers fĂ©erique rĂ©solument Ă part oĂč se cĂŽtoient basse, batterie, banjo, vibraphone et toutes sortes de sons bizarres. Elle sait aussi convaincre en solo. Ses chansons sont d'une beautĂ© Ă vous fendre lâĂąme tandis que sa voix emplie de fougue et son dĂ©licat jeu de guitare vous mettront du baume au cĆur.
