Linda Perhacs, Vashti Bunyan et Karen Dalton ont au moins une chose en commun. Elles ont toutes sorti, dans les annĂ©es 70, un ou plusieurs albums folk dont l'importance musicale n'allait clairement se rĂ©vĂ©ler qu'au tournant du siĂšcle. Des ambassadeurs comme Nick Cave ont notamment pris fait et cause pour Karen Dalton, la Billie Holiday blanche, et le new weird folkie Devendra Banhart nâa cessĂ© de crier Ă qui voulait l'entendre son amour et son estime pour Vashti Bunyan et Linda Perhacs.
Cette derniĂšre est nĂ©e en Californie sous le nom de Linda Jeanne Arnold et a sorti en 1970 le magnifique album de folk psychĂ©dĂ©lique âParallelogramsâ. HĂ©las, l'album fut Ă l'Ă©poque totalement ignorĂ© par le monde extĂ©rieur et Linda Perhacs se consacra alors Ă son autre occupation : un cabinet dentaire Ă Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
C'Ă©tait jusqu'Ă ce que l'album, qui reste son seul opus Ă ce jour, soit rĂ©Ă©ditĂ© Ă la fin du siĂšcle dernier et qu'une nouvelle gĂ©nĂ©ration de musiciens grands amateurs de musique la redĂ©couvrent. Devendra Banhart l'a ainsi invitĂ©e sur son album âSmokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyonâ (â07) et Daft Punk a utilisĂ© une de ses chansons (âIf You Were My Manâ) dans son film âElectromaâ (â06).
Ce regain d'intĂ©rĂȘt amĂšne Linda Perhacs Ă venir pour la premiĂšre fois en Belgique, 43 ans aprĂšs la sortie de son premier opus aujourdâhui apprĂ©ciĂ© Ă sa juste valeur. Et avec un peu de chance, vous aurez l'occasion de dĂ©couvrir ce soir-lĂ quelques titres de son nouvel album, âThe Soul Of All Natural Thingsâ, Ă paraĂźtre en 2014 et sur lequel on pourra Ă©galement entendre Julia Holter et Devendra Banhart.
