De la musique colombienne festive Ă la sauce bruxelloise !
Cette phrase qui sonne comme un slogan est tirĂ©e dâun article de De Standaard paru Ă l'occasion de la sortie en 2011 de lâalbum 'Pelao'. Ă lâĂ©poque, La Chiva Gantiva avait aussi donnĂ© un concert gratuit Ă l'AB, dans le cadre du Jazzmarathon, devant une salle comble et en liesse. Pour appeler un chat un chat, ce fut « un sacrĂ© bordel », « ça dĂ©mĂ©nageait sec », « De la musique colombienne festive Ă la sauce bruxelloise ».
La Chiva Gantiva est un groupe complĂštement givrĂ© mais trĂšs carrĂ©, emmenĂ© par Natalia Gantiva et lâexubĂ©rant frontman Rafael Espinel. Aujourdâhui installĂ©s Ă Bruxelles, tous deux sont d'origine colombienne (comme le guitaristeetn compositeur Pipe Deckers). Ă leurs cĂŽtĂ©s, on retrouve aussi un Vietnamien, un Breton, un Wallon et mĂȘme un Flamand.
Le trĂšs inspirĂ© âPelaoâ est sorti sur le label belge Crammed et a Ă©tĂ© produit par Richard Blair, Ă©galement connu sous le nom de Sidestepper.
Depuis leurs débuts en 2010, on a pu les voir dans divers festivals chez nous (dont Couleur Café en 2010 et 2012) mais aussi en France, au Portugal, aux Pays-Bas, en Allemagne, en Grande-Bretagne, en Colombie et au Canada.
Les voici de retour « Ă la maison » pour le plaisir dâun public triĂ© sur le volet dans lâintimitĂ© de notre ABClub. ArmĂ©s dâinstruments traditionnels comme la tambora, lâalegre, le llamador et les maracones, ils ne manqueront certainement pas de vous faire partager les rythmes colombiens que sont la champeta, la chirimia et le mapalĂ© !
