Un retour amplement justifiĂ© au vu de l'intemporalitĂ© de son blues. RĂ©cemment, il sortait encore un hommage Ă Freddie King intitulĂ© 'In The Palace Of The King' (chez nous via Pias). Sur son site, Mayall nous livre mĂȘme une bien agrĂ©able anthologie du blues, un petit tour d'horizon Ă©ducatif des grands maĂźtres qui peuplent sa collection de disques. Mais, revenons au musicien pour en refaire l'apologie comme au printemps 2006, date de son dernier concert sold-out Ă l'AB. John Mayall est une lĂ©gende vivante, et bien vivante compte tenu de ses incessantes tournĂ©es et sorties d'albums. Depuis le milieu des annĂ©es '60, il a livrĂ© des dizaines de vinyles et de CD, parmi lesquels on retrouve l'irrĂ©sistible et joyeux 'Room To Move', un tube qui, en 69, faisait figure de vĂ©ritable rĂ©volution. Ses Bluesbreakers ont toujours comptĂ© - surtout en live - parmi les Ă©coles les plus renommĂ©es du blues. De grands noms comme Eric Clapton, Peter Green ou Mick Taylor sont passĂ©s par lĂ avant de rejoindre Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Free et autres Rolling Stones. Entre-temps, ce Britannique aux multiples facettes a Ă©migrĂ© en Californie d'oĂč il parcourt le monde, depuis le milieu des annĂ©es '80, accompagnĂ© de nouveaux Bluesbreakers tout aussi talentueux. Et Ă l'automne 2008, c'est Ă l'AB qu'il viendra finalement s'offrir un petit Bluesbreak !
