Beck, Jeff Beck ! Il est de la gĂ©nĂ©ration de Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Peter Green et John Mayall mais parmi tous les guitaristes phares du Royaume-Uni, c'est aussi le plus typĂ© du lot. A son passif, on retrouve The Yardbirds, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Jan Hammer ou Beck Bogert & Appice et il a encore rĂ©cemment Ă©voluĂ© aux cĂŽtĂ©s de Morrissey, Roger Waters, Joss Stone et Imelda May. Câest avant tout un guitariste qui continue dâexplorer inlassablement les multiples possibilitĂ©s offertes par son groupe et son instrument. Ou comme il l'explique lui-mĂȘme sur son site : 'I play the way I do because it allows me to come up with the sickest sounds possible. That's the point now, isn't it?' . Le rĂ©sultat ? Une formidable fusion entre blues, jazz et rock !
Aux cÎtés de Jeff Beck, on s'attend d'ailleurs à retrouver rien moins que Rhonda Smith à la basse (cf. Prince), Narada Michael Walden à la batterie (cf. Mahavishnu Orchestra) et Jason Rebello aux claviers (cf.Wayne Shorter).
Attendez-vous Ă un rĂ©pertoire ultra variĂ©, allant de ses versions du 'Bolero' ou 'Superstition', de 'The Peter Gunn Theme' ou encore de son phĂ©nomĂ©nal 'Come Dancing', Ă la beautĂ© subtile d'un 'Amazing Grace' ou de 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', en passant par 'A Day In The Life' des Beatles, dans une version digne dâun Grammy du meilleur morceau instrumental !
On notera Ă©galement la sortie chez Warner dâun nouvel album intitulĂ© 'Hammerhead' et le fait que Jeff Beck a rĂ©cemment rejoint l'illustre Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
