Avec ‘All Our Favourite Stories’, ces jeunes Anglais de Nottingham ravissent votre cœur à la manière d'un Robin Hood de l'indie-pop. Ce premier album déborde de chansons poppy qui donnent envie d'être reprises en chœur, avec ci et là un petit twist jazzy. Ils voient leur musique comme “an original blend of harmonious, indie-pop in the disco, with a cheeky jazz hint” ou comme "uplifting pop for jazz junkies and choir folk".
En 2010, les cinq de Dog Is Dead sont apparus à la fenêtre de la Britpop avec un premier single ‘Glockenspiel Song’, au refrain particulièrement catchy (écoutez ce sax !). Une percée qui leur a permis d'atterrir sur l'Introducing Stage de la BBC à Glastonbury et en première partie de OK GO. Récupérés par Atlantis Records (Warner Music), ils ont parcouru l'arrière-pays britannique en première partie de Morning Parade et de Bombay Bicycle Club.
Cet été, ils se sont même hasardés à une traversée de la Manche, direction le Marquee du Pukkelpop où ils ont livré un set particulièrement communicatif à destination des lève-tôt. Chez eux, les rythmes dansants et estivaux viennent contrebalancer un chant parfois mélancolique et des harmonies vocales aériennes, le tout servi par un esprit piquant typiquement British … C'est ce qui vous attend à l'AB Club pour la première tournée en haut de l'affiche de Dog Is Dead.
Leur indie-pop a déjà retourné pas mal de clubs britanniques, laissons-les donc continuer sur leur lancée – accueillants comme nous sommes – lors de leur visite chez nous.
