Leader de Yevgueni Ă©crit & chante dans la langue de MoliĂšre
Avec ces chansons qu'il a lui-mĂȘme Ă©crites en français, Klaas Delrue (Yevgueni) se glisse plus que jamais dans la peau d'un chansonnier. Il enrichit, en outre, son nouveau rĂ©pertoire de reprises de titres qui l'ont particuliĂšrement inspirĂ©.
Pour ce nouveau projet, il a optĂ© pour le nom de Delrue. Lâutilisation de son patronyme Ă consonance francophone tombait ici sous le sens.
Delrue a passĂ© son enfance et sa jeunesse dans le village frontalier de Rekkem oĂč la langue française fait partie intĂ©grante du paysage. Il en allait de mĂȘme dans sa famille. Dans les annĂ©es 20, le grand-pĂšre Delrue travaillait comme instituteur Ă Mouscron et Ă©tait amoureux de la jeune fille qui servait le repas de midi au CafĂ© du Centre. Mariette, une francophone nĂ©e de parents flamands expatriĂ©s, tomba Ă son tour sous le charme du maĂźtre dâĂ©cole Delrue.
C'est cet amour transfrontalier qui amena le pĂšre de Klaas Ă grandir au son de la radio et de la tĂ©lĂ© françaises (la rĂ©ception de la chaĂźne flamande Ă©tait d'ailleurs souvent mauvaise). Une gĂ©nĂ©ration plus tard, Klaas fut soumis, malgrĂ© lui, Ă une overdose de chanson française. Ă la maison, la langue de MoliĂšre Ă©tait surtout celle pratiquĂ©e par Brassens, FerrĂ©, Brel ou GainsbourgâŠ
Klaas le vĂ©cut tout dâabord comme une sorte dâendoctrinement forcĂ©, mais rapidement de plus en plus de CD et de vinyles disparurent mystĂ©rieusement de la discothĂšque paternelle. C'est surtout Renaud, le rockeur rebelle, qui le maintenait scotchĂ© Ă sa chaĂźne stĂ©rĂ©o et qui, plus encore que My first songbook, U2 ou Gorki, lui donna le goĂ»t de la guitare. On dĂ©celait dĂ©jĂ cette influence dans la musique et les textes de Yevgueni mais son grand rĂȘve, celui dâĂ©crire et de se produire sur scĂšne en français, prend seulement forme aujourd'hui avec un album solo et un concert Ă l'AB. L'album a Ă©tĂ© enregistrĂ© sous la houlette du trĂšs qualifiĂ© Wouter Van Belle (Axelle Red, Gorky, Noordkaap, Kowlier, YevgueniâŠ).
Sur scĂšne, Delrue rendra un long hommage Ă ses hĂ©ros au travers de son nouveau rĂ©pertoire mais aussi avec une sĂ©rie de covers longuement maturĂ©es : de Brassens Ă Renaud, en passant par Noir DĂ©sir, Louise Attaque et d'autres perles plus rĂ©centes, tout aussi mĂ©connues que sous-estimĂ©es. Delrue utilise son jeu de guitare sobre et ultra efficace - mĂȘme s'il est encore hĂ©sitant - pour accompagner sa voix susurrĂ©e et reconnaissable. Delrue raconte avec enthousiasme comment la chanson et les chansons dont il est question ici se sont insinuĂ©es dans sa vie, dans l'espoir peut-ĂȘtre de propager la flamme.
