Retour dans les années 30 : ça va swinguer !
C.W. Stoneking, cet Australien qui nous plonge avec une telle facilitĂ© dans lâunivers des annĂ©es 30, vient de donner 3 concerts Ă guichet fermĂ© en Belgique. Il se produit partout dans le monde avec son Primitive Horn Orchestra et fait salle comble Ă chaque reprĂ©sentation. Il interprĂšte des chansons extraites de ses 5 albums, dont les deux derniers (« King Hokum » et « Jungle Blues ») comportent principalement des compositions originales.
Quelques apparitions Ă la tĂ©lĂ©vision (de Later With Jools Holland Ă De Laatste Show) ont fait de lui une immense star, et ce malgrĂ© une musique que les jeunes branchĂ©s considĂšrent comme totalement dĂ©modĂ©e. Mais câest justement son approche fraĂźche et originale qui plait tant : ses propres chansons teintĂ©es de calypso vintage sont des plus swingantes. Et il y insuffle Ă©galement des Ă©lĂ©ments du blues, du vaudeville, du ragtime, du hillbilly et du jazz.
Le mercredi 22 février 2012, Christopher William (C.W. en abrégé) Stoneking sera de retour chez nous pour un concert à l'AB.
La premiÚre partie sera assurée par la jeune Gemma Ray qui nous vient de Berlin. Un nouvel album du nom de 'Gemma Ray Sings Sparks (with Sparks)' est attendu pour février et la demoiselle peut déjà compter sur Jimmy Page parmi ses fans.
