Lâimpressionnante Chan Marshall prĂ©sente son nouvel album 6 ans aprĂšs « Sun »
Sous le pseudo Cat Power, lâAmĂ©ricaine Charlyn Marie « Chan » Marshall propose un indie rock lo-fi et des chansons folk mĂ©lancoliques aux textes poignants, le tout arrosĂ© dâune sacrĂ©e attitude punk.
InspirĂ©e par la chorale de gospel et la collection de vinyles de ses parents, la chanteuse apprend Ă jouer de la guitare toute seule. AprĂšs avoir dĂ©mĂ©nagĂ© dâAtlanta Ă New York, elle est repĂ©rĂ©e par Tim Foljahn et Steve Shelley, le batteur de Sonic Youth, avec qui elle enregistre ses deux premiers albums. Mais câest lâopus « Moon Pix », gratifiĂ© de nombreuses critiques Ă quatre ou cinq Ă©toiles, qui lance rĂ©ellement sa carriĂšre. Suivent alors « You are Free » et « The Greatest », avec lequel elle dĂ©croche le Shortlist Music Prize, devenant ainsi la premiĂšre femme Ă remporter ce prix.
Six ans aprĂšs « Sun » (qui figure pour elle une forme de « renaissance » artistique), la chanteuse sâapprĂȘte Ă Ă©toffer son palmarĂšs dâun nouvel opus, son dixiĂšme dĂ©jĂ .
