Bloc Party squatte les devants de lâactualitĂ© depuis la fin de lâĂ©tĂ©. ConquĂ©rant et triomphateur Ă lâissue dâun set impeccable sur la grande scĂšne du Pukkelpop, le groupe propose son nouvel album via leur site depuis le 21 aoĂ»t dernier. Produit par Paul Epworth et Jacknife Lee, 'Intimacy', combine des titres expĂ©rimentaux et dâautres oĂč lâon retrouve instantanĂ©ment la griffe et le son qui ont fait de Bloc Party ce quâils sont devenus. Kele Okereke et ses comparses Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes et Matt Tong ont marquĂ© les esprits en 2004 avec un trio de singles imparables ('Sheâs Hearing Voices', 'Banquet' et 'Helicopter '). Leur premier album 'Silent Alarm' suivra dĂ©but 2005. Ce succĂšs sans prĂ©cĂ©dent propose un recueil de chansons fiĂ©vreuses, animĂ©es de guitares tranchantes et de rythmes Ă©pileptiques. Album de lâannĂ©e pour NME, il entre directement Ă la troisiĂšme place des charts anglais et dĂ©croche une nomination au Mercury Prize. Le quatuor, qui refuse lâĂ©tiquette de groupe rock, se revendique de styles hĂ©tĂ©roclites (pop, new-wave ou post-punk voire indie ou techno).
'A Weekend In The City', leur deuxiĂšme opus, confirme leur extraordinaire talent. Le groupe acquiert alors une dimension supplĂ©mentaire Ă la mesure de leurs ambitions qui leur vaut entre autres un spot privilĂ©giĂ© sur la grande scĂšne de Rock Werchter en 2007. Toujours animĂ©s par une volontĂ© de constante innovation, Bloc Party prĂ©sente aujourdâhui leur troisiĂšme opus 'Intimacy' (il sera Ă©galement disponible en format CD limited edition Ă partir du 27 octobre).
