L'ultime indie dream pop en provenance de Baltimore
« Il arrive qu'un groupe règne en maître sur une année pop », écrivions-nous en 2010 alors que Beach House se produisait devant une AB sold out, dans le cadre du festival Autumn Falls. Son troisième album, ‘Teen Dream’, nous avait totalement séduits et nous faisait réaliser qu'il existait encore bel et bien une pop parfaite. À la même époque, le duo de Baltimore se voyait également plébiscité par Robin Pecknold de Fleet Foxes (avec qui il a tourné en 2009), ce qui créa un véritable buzz autour de son indie dream pop. Le NME, Pitchfork et Rolling Stone ne cachèrent pas non plus leur enthousiasme. Et aujourd'hui, deux ans plus tard, voici ‘Bloom’, un album qui catapulte Beach House en haut lieu de l'indie pop. Pitchfork a même lâché un 9.1 à sa sortie. On a donc retroussé nos manches pour organiser un concert, pour vous, mais aussi parce qu'en secret, nous sommes de vrais inconditionnels du groupe.
Holy Other
Dites ▼ et vous voilà déjà aux portes du purgatoire. Tri▼Angle, c'est le fer de lance du mouvement witch house qui s'est offert son premier gros showcase belge au printemps à l'AB avec Balam Acab, o0o00 et Holy Other. Ce dernier s'est avéré être la véritable révélation de la soirée. Goddeau en disait : « un classique en devenir chez Tri▼Angle . » De Morgen lui a décerné **** et écrivait à son tour : “Holy Other s'est promené à travers l'histoire de la musique avec ingéniosité et raffinement, tout en lorgnant du côté des synthés version années 80 et de James Blake. » Et aussi : « C'était chaud. Ça crissait. Ça cliquetait. Ça vous submergeait endéans le quart d'heure ». Dans l'attente d'un premier album à paraître cet été, vous pouvez toujours vous rabattre sur son EP ‘With You’ , à propos duquel Pitchfork notait : “an ultimately rewarding piece of work.”
