An initiative supporting emerging talent and concert venues in Europe
Liveurope is a pan-European initiative that aims to increase the diversity of the available live music in Europe. It does so by financially supporting venues so that they can book more up-and-coming acts from other European countries. The core mission is thus to provide opportunities to new and talented European artists to play on iconic stages and find their own audiences regardless of borders.
Ancienne Belgique is the proud founder and coordinator of Liveurope. Since 2014, Liveurope has been encouraging 24 of Europe’s most iconic concert venues to diversify their programmes and go in search of the emerging and promising European artists that are yet to be discovered.
Everyone talks about how expensive touring has become,” says Guilherme, the band’s singer. “Without the support of Liveurope, we would never have been able to travel for a show. We would never have realised that we could reach an audience outside of Portugal.
We seek the stars of tomorrow
Acts that receive chances to perform in the EU today through Liveurope are the Christine and The Queens, Years & Years, and Rosalía's of tomorrow. What’s more, Liveurope is also a quality seal of approval for venues.
