Free and adventurous evening festival at Brussels Park
Feeërieën is AB’s adventurous and free evening festival happening at Brussels Park during the last week of summer holidays. A festival with even more atmosphere than there are ‘e’s in the name. Because when the evening falls, the lights come on. “Brussels by night, all kinds of light”, but in a magical garden setting.
The enchanting lighting and the peaceful location are the cherry on top of the fairytale.
On a musical discovery journey through the enchanting Brussels Park
Feeërieën first saw the light in 2004 as the little sister of Boterhammen In Het Park, an musical event in the same kiosk at Brussels Park around noon.
But Feeërieën quickly grew up to be its own event, filled with adventurous artists on stage and a loyal audience that shows up rain or shine, ready to discover new performers and sounds.
We make sure the festival doesn’t become too big by focusing on artists who still need to be discovered.

Nowadays some of our regulars often say stuff like “Oh, I saw that band years ago at Feeërieën” when talking about artists who sell out entire venues now. Think of Grizzly Bear, the Icelandic Emiliana Torrini, Chassol (who later collaborated with Solange and recently performed at La Monnaie), Patrick Watson, Girls In Hawaii (in 2023 they sold out AB four times in a row), Melanie de Biasio or the Icelandic pianist Ólafur Arnalds who went on to play Sydney Opera House.
At times the Feeërieën programma is built around a certain genre (from jazz to neoclassical, electronic music, songwriters or global sounds) and other times we’ll select a project revolving around inspiring artists such as Sun Ra (including an homage to his masterpiece Space Is The Place), Oum Kalthoum (The Grand Dame of Arab Singing) or Moondog (celebrating the 100th anniversary of this American eccentric creature).
But the revival of Turkish psychedelia didn’t go by unnoticed - with gigs by Derya Yildirim and Gaye Su Akyol - and together we went wild on African desert blues thanks to steamy sets by Mdou Moctar, Imarhan and Etran de L’Aïr.
There were of course some odd ones out too: the impressive opera voices of Astrid Stockman and Lore Binon, but also the acclaimed performance Into The Open of theatre company Voetvolk.
And just when you think you’ve completely fathomed the success recipe of Feeërieën, you’ll get served an unexpected surprise. The only certainty you have is that you’ll be blown away. Come see for yourself!
A festival for everyone
AB believes that truely everyone should be able to enjoy shows, so our summer festivals are all wheelchair accessible.
Right in front of the stage there will be a zone dedicated to people with a disability.
We’ll also install an induction loop, so that people with hearing aid get to enhance the music, but not the ambient noise.
Are you coming too?
You’ll find Brussels Park uptown in the city centre of Brussels, between the federal parliament and the Royal Palace, surrounded by trams, metros, buses and trains. Concerts end at 11 PM, so if all goes well you can still get home by using public transport.
Want to stay longer and hang out at our magical fairytale forest?
Our DJs will keep going until midnight!
