On Sunday October 2nd, AB and Youth L'AB organize Essence: a one-day festival for and by youngsters. Expect showcases of promising Belgian artists, captivating talks and a banging afterparty.
Music
In the AB Club you'll discover Cyra Gwynth, who pays tribute to her 90's R&B idols with her brand new EP 'Conscious'. Alioth reached over 100,000 streams on Spotify on his own with his single 'Secrets' and is reminiscent of Chris Brown and The Weeknd.
Brussels-based LeBlanc brings refreshing Dutch hip-hop. Also performing at Essence: Soussiya with her Moroccan-inspired groovy beats and Butterfly: The Wave, a hip-hop collective for fans of, say, Shoreline Mafia or Nekfeu. The day ends with a banging afterparty full of Brussels DJs.
Talks
Have you always been curious about what happens behind the scenes of the music industry? During the talk 'Internet Music Industry', we examine the impact of social media and the Internet on the music scene. We invite artists and artist managers who reveal how to grow your fan base with social media.
With 'Stand Out in BXL', we go deeper into how you can profile yourself as an artist. Stanley Zotres (ISHA management) and Sacha Estelles (Five Oh) explain how to develop a unique identity and how to communicate it to the outside world.
What is Youth L'AB?
Youth L'AB is AB's laboratory for the multilingual youth of Brussels. For more than a year, six committed, multi-talented youngsters have been part of the AB team. With Essence they summarize the essence of their experience in AB.
