A traditional edition of the 1000km to benefit Kom Op Tegen Kanker didn’t work out this year either. Covid-19 meant that our team mapped out an alternative route. 6 cyclists rode the entire 1000 km, the rest took a shorter route. Yet, despite this strange and unpleasant period, we succeeded in raising the impressive amount of €109,659.70. Due to you! Hats off. We never even dared to dream this.
And yet there is no time to lose. “The battle against cancer continues”, said Eric Meersmans (AB Café). “This year I rode mainly for my friend Arno - who, as everyone knows, is fighting a tough battle with cancer. Milo, our ex-chef at AB-resto, is sick too. I rode for them in particular. I’m already looking forward to being able to start again next year with a full team. The registration fee has become more expensive, so we can use every bit of support.”
So here’s a warm appeal to enjoy a delicious glass of Rosé De Vlaeminck (or white or red wine) and support our teams! You can order via https://abcafe.be/
Monetary donations are of course also welcome. Then you can go to: https://www.de1000km.be/team/ab-cafe
Thanks!
