Ask us to map out the future of blaring Belgian noise-rock and we present you with these three stunners on a golden platter, or – even better – entirely live in a sweltering AB Club on 15 March.
Hypochristmutreefuzz
A band name that sounds like a foul affliction, but they’re absolutely the dirtiest and fiercest noise to echo through Ghent these days. Hypochristmutreefuzz stands for keen vocals, repetitive basslines as sturdy foundation, and psychedelic guitar distortion. Our prediction: the guys from Ghent will play our Club to smithereens. You have been warned.
It It Anita
The ominousness of And So I Watch You From Afar alternated with the disquieting vibe of Raketkanon and the melodiousness of Foals? Bundle that all together in a package of trashy, damned noise-rock and you’ll end up with the quartet from Luik that goes through life as It It Anita. We highly recommended that you experience this Walloon talent first-hand.
The Guru Guru
Things are sounding loud in Hasselt, certainly when The Guru Guru is involved. They describe themselves as the missing link between Sonic Youth, Metz and Melt-Banana; and already have a passing through the fields of Pukkelpop to their name. The passing through AB Club will be ten times as memorable.
Hypochristmutreefuzz and It It Anita are launching a split 7” and they’re giving away 50 copies to the first 50 visitors. Take part now if you want a chance to be there on March 15.
