AB is totally ready for a piece of Bristolian musical heritage on Monday 11 April. That’s when Tricky will be coming to present his latest project ‘Skilled Mechanics’.

Inspiration for this album arose from Tricky’s move to Berlin and having seen a documentary on espionage.

 “There was an ex-CIA agent on this programme speaking about assassins who were sent abroad by the US to start revolutions and topple governments. He called them ‘Skilled mechanics’. I thought that was a great name for someone who was a killer basically. The name was so dark and cynical it just stuck with me.”  - Tricky

The album exudes an unsettling queasiness and gives you a David Lynchian chill. It also became a mainly collaborative project on which the likes of DJ Milo, Luke Harris and Oh Land worked.
