With his 13 visits to AB, you can safely say that Mark Lanegan is a Resident Artist. Lanegan first stood on stage at AB in 1992, with his previous band Screaming Trees, and at least a handful of times under his own name. He was a conspicuous guest at the Magnus farewell shows in late 2018 and he also passed in review with his on-the-road companions Greg Dulli & Isobell Campbell. So it was a logical choice to let Mark Lanegan have carte blanche for a weekend and have him programme to his heart’s content for his first curatorship ever, worldwide. It would even seem that Lanegan has become a professional programmer on the side, as his wishlist looks pretty impressive.
So each evening he will play his entire (!) masterpiece ‘Bubblegum’ (from 2004). The Guardian on it: ‘In every sense, ‘Bubblegum’ is a staggering record.’
