The Silence Is Sexy concert series gets together with new Brussels initiative BESSST. Only logical really: as both initiatives happen to have high regard for silence. The concert series Silence Is Sexy goes more in search of the silence between notes and BESSST seeks quiet places in the city.
BESSST stands for 'Brussels, heritage and peace' and initially develops itself around the notion of 'silence as cultural heritage in Brussels'. Bessst has hereby organised Brussels' first quiet-route, one that links not only the quiet squares, forgotten backstreets, and green oases between the Sonien Forest and the centre, but also a number of springtime events that evoke silence. The link between the latter and Silence Is Sexy is quickly made.
Silence Is Sexy again focuses on the so-called (new) contemporary classical composers who are increasingly making a name for themselves in the field of âpop musicâ. They are involved in the world of classical music, but aren't too proud to have electronica seep through in their work, often resulting in a unique sound.
Brussel Deze Week already described this collaboration appropriately with âBessst wants to make silence sexyâ.
