From June until December 2022, the AB Cafe & Resto will receive a temporary new interpretation. To do so, we are looking for promising entrepreneurs with an original pop-up idea.

Do you have a unique vision for a warm spot where concertgoers can dine comfortably and Brussellians can enjoy a drink? Then you’re the proprietor we’re looking for! 

In 2023, AB will receive a partial makeover. The building that opens onto the Steenstraat will be transformed into an open house of music with a mini concert space and a restaurant with roof terrace. In anticipation of this major conversion, in the short term, we are looking for enthusiastic catering operators to run a pop-up in the current AB Cafe & Resto. 

From June up to and including December, AB will make all the infrastructure of the current AB Cafe & Resto available for use, including an equipped kitchen and outdoor terrace in the Steenstraat. The pop-up is to offer food for concertgoers but also remain a lively place when there are no concerts taking place. 

Tom Bonte, General Director of AB, gives one extra tip to those wishing to be considered as candidates: “It’s a good idea to have the concept fit with the sustainability philosophy that AB has been promoting with conviction for a long time now. So think: short supply-chain, local, (Brussels), veggie-based, with social engagement.” 

We hope that this project can be a springboard for ambitious entrepreneurs in the city and don’t rule out the possibility that a successful experiment may be given a permanent place within the renewed AB.
