A week before the big climate summit in Glasgow (COP26), De Standaard opens up the debate in four different cities.
Five evenings around five themes (transport, finances, industry, food and politics) with the people who hold the levers for change. What is their strategy to ensure your safe future? Together with a venue full of young people, De Standaard enters into debate with the powers that be. Because, without transition, we won’t make it. The Big Shift is now.
How long can it be 5 to 12? How many alarm signals can still be ignored? How can we keep our planet habitable without losing our prosperity? And will we be able to create a CO2-neutral economy by 2050? This is no climate in which to remain moderate. De Standaard increases pressure and questions business leaders and policy makers.
De Grote Shift is an ambitious step toward the climate summit in Glasgow. Five debates in four university cities, led by De Standaard journalist Ine Renson. The panel will be formed by top figures & a challenger, all specialised in the theme of the evening. This will be more than just the umpteenth round of talks. It is time for solutions.
