During the coming Artist In Residence season, aside from assisting the bands, AB will be fully engaged in experimenting with new forms of Artist In Residence such as concert- and label-residencies.
The Echo Collective concert series in Huis 23 is a first concert residency whereby the classically schooled ensemble – that headed around the world as backing band for neo-classical band A Winged Victory For The Sullen – idiosyncratically and classically reworked Radiohead’s acclaimed ‘Amnesiac’ album.
Aside from that, this season, we as AB have committed to placing a spotlight on Ghent’s radical alternative label Consouling Sounds. We can’t yet reveal the details of what is to come but the release show of their poulain Syndrome (Mathieu Vandekerckhove, guitarist Amenra) on 23 October in AB Club is certainly a good example for the moment.
So we are now proud to present to you our new Artist in Residence bands, the bands with which we are forging fine plans. Once they have received our quality seal-of-approval, we then get together to draw up a plan whereby the AB’s know-how can be utilized to give the career of the artist in question a judicious boost.
No payment plan for that swimming pool nor champagne for a bar fridge in the limo. But rather top-of-the-line AB expertise in the form of concerts, recordings (in the AB studio or via ABtv), photo sessions and also searching for that safe haven via our extensive network of (inter)national contacts.
For the 2016-2017 concert season we take on board Glints, Le Colisée and Stikstof. More info
