As a part of the âPrideFestival 2014â, Rainbow House Brussels and the Ancienne Belgique are setting up a striking collaboration.
Via the âOut in the streetâ project, as of Saturday 3 May, there will be graphic-art adorning the facade of the AB in the Lollepotstraat: Art by Greek artist Fotini Tikkou, who's work has focused on Street Art for quite some time now.
In a clear visual language, the work appeals for attention around LGBTQI issues concerning gender stereotyping and homophobic reactions to lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals and trans-genders in our society. Reducing the strongly present stereotypical opinions and increasing the acceptance and respect for every person's gender identity is essential in this.
With this project together with the Rainbow House, the AB wants to give a signal about the rights of LGBTQI people and defend the associated sexual diversity, all within the universal stride against discrimination.
