Brussels is celebrating the Flemish holiday in style! On 11 July, at various locations within the city during Vlaanderen Feest, Brussel Danst, you can enjoy entertainment, dance, music, walks, bike rides, talks and much more. AB is also taking part. Come and support your favourite dancers in an epic dance battle or join in with a festive singalong to help you learn Dutch.
There is enough variety in the programme to make it a fantastic public holiday. Let us guide you through the not-to-be-missed AB activities.
The best dance battle in Brussels
From 4 pm, the best dancers will compete in AB’s Main Hall in 2 vs. 2 dance battles during the Brussel Danst Dance Battle. They'll be going for gold in the hip-hop, house, krump, and ksaara categories. Get ready for some seriously entertaining and sensational duels! A professional jury will pick this year’s winners.
We’ve invited a couple of local DJs to bring out your best dance moves, too. And the best news of all? The Brussel Danst Dance Battle is completely free! Tell your friends and bring your family.
Are you a dancer and want to participate in one of the four categories? Team up and sign up here. Participation is free & there is a prize of €500 per category!
Celebrate, sing, dance and learn Dutch
It’s party time in the stunning Spiegelzaal at the Brussels Parliament from 2 pm, at the Gelukkig Zijn Sessie with special guests Jo Lemaire, Héritier Tipo and Fouad Ahidar! We’ll sing songs in Dutch together in order to get to know the language and culture better. You don’t have to be a great singer to join in: all you need is a little enthusiasm.
We provide the music, a singer, fun lyrics and a drink to help loosen those vocal cords. Places are limited so be sure to sign up fast.
