ANOHNI - formerly known as Antony Hegarty, former lead singer and songwriter of Antony and the Johnsons - is back. Or, even better, ANOHNI is finally back. Six years after the release of the last studio album with the Johnsons, Antony returns reborn as ANOHNI and with a new repertoire.
Kurt Overbergh - big (biggest?) in-house fan – managed to get hold of the British-born American artist for an exclusive Belgian concert in AB. She’ll be presenting her first musical – and politically laden – statement ‘HOPELESSNESS’ to an AB audience on June 24.
You can expect raw sounds by electronica masters like Oneohtrix Point Never (who already worked with Antony in 2010) and Hudson Mohawke (see too: Kanye West, Drake,…). Her magnificent vocal sound and the intriguing electronic backdrop are combined with an impressive visual spectacle on stage.
