On May 9, Liveurope and AB organize the 9th edition of Europe Day. This year we delve into the Ukrainian music scene.
AB joins forces with the iconic ‘Atlas’, a concert venue in Kyiv. So, with much pride, we introduce you to three Ukrainian music groups, namely ‘Cepasa’, ‘Ragapop’ and The Lazy Jesus. They perform in AB specifically to raise money for those suffering in Ukraine under the banner: 'Music Saves UA’.
Pavlo Lenchenko, better known under this stage name Cepasa, is a Ukrainian musician, producer and artist based in Kyiv. ‘Niby Chaiky’, his 5th album, was completed during the war. Ragapop is the successful side project of Dakh Daughters members Ruslana Khazipova and Anna Nikitina in collaboration with producer Anton Ocheretyanyy. The Lazy Jesus is an Ukrainian DJ and sound producer with a multi-genre taste and an ear for modern interpretation of ancient sounds.
After organizing several events all over the world exploring the stylistic diversity of ethnic music, he got inspired to delve into his country’s folk and ancient music culture.
There will also be a panel discussion taking place, where we will give the floor to two ‘cultural professionals’ hailing from Ukraine. They will be discussing the importance of strengthening ties between Ukraine and the EU.
