Now that cows have returned to graze on festival sites across the country, the doors of AB are thrown open once again!
Welcome back! It's true, our concert calendar seems to be fuller than ever. We've had to struggle extremely hard over the past few years because of all the postponements and cancellations.. Still, we want to help you to keep an overview by regularly selecting a few bands for you.
A pick of what’s on offer:
DOPE LEMON
- On Tuesday 6 September, we will be welcoming Angus Stone aka Dope Lemon. He describes his sound as a combination of Khruangbin x Tame Impala x Johnny Cash.
HOT CHIP
- On Monday 3 October we plan to dance off the weekend with soul, R&B, gospel, disco and funk from Hot Chip. Everyone: Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now Say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it now
The Staples Jr. Singers
- On Monday 14 November, we shall be bearing witness to a genuine and unique family reunion with The Staples Jr. Singers, a family band who were a local sensation in Mississippi in the mid-’70s. 100% vintage gospel, funk and soul!
PONGO
- We’re looking forward to welcoming Pongo on Saturday 19 November. Pongo embodies the innovation in the Angolan Kuduro with her energetic, rhythmic pop sound and the combination of afrobeat and dancehall.
The Hu
- Monday 21 November will go down in history as the day of AB’s first ever Mongolian throat singing concert. Come again? Yes, you read that right. The Hu brings us Mongolian throat singing with a heavy metal-style pounding bass and traditional Mongolian instruments such as the two-stringed horse violin (morin khuur) and the two-stringed Mongolian guitar (tovshuur).
Ibeyi
- We are really looking forward to welcoming the singing twin sisters Ibeyi to AB. They are bringing their neo-soul to Brussels once more on 6 December. Pitchfork: 'gorgeous, genre-agnostic meditations on resilience and mindful resistance.'
