As part of Darna Fest, AB and Darna are organising a unique closing night of the festival themed around the Jewish-Moroccan community.

In 2022, the Darna Fest focuses on the artistic gaze of three women and their link to Judeo-Moroccan culture. Three artists, three generations, three disciplines. Each of them has found the right resonance with this common cultural heritage.

For this closing evening of the festival, Darna invites conductor Tom Cohen, singer Neta Elkayam and the Brussels Philharmonic Soloists for an exceptional evening! 

A Judeo-Moroccan singer who combines Andalusian, Berber and Mediterranean musical influences in her voice, Neta will present excerpts from the Judeo-Moroccan repertoire carried by arrangements for orchestra by Tom Cohen. 

The project Hak a Mamma aims to create a bridge between times and cultures. Its starting point is the music that our grandmothers, Jewish and Muslim, heard when they were young in Morocco - the common cultural ground from which and on which they grew.

As a support act, enjoy a wonderful performance by Al'Fanamenco. 

Get carried away by the duende of flamenco and the Arabic melisma of Moroccan chaabi! Driven by centuries of shared history, a mixed identity and a rich culture that developed on both sides of the Mediterranean, Al'Faamenco reveals the soul of two musical movements that no longer have any secrets from each other. Carried by two singers with strong and subtle timbres, the songs flow, cross and blossom into each other in an intense way. 

An evening that promises to be full of emotions, joy and nostalgia!
