On Saturday 21 December Braindance, AB’s electronic music concept, will be stepping outside the familiar walls of the Club to take over the AB Complex for an XL edition. All out, all night long. On the agenda: innovative electronic acts and progressive DJs, plus a production to remember. In short: AB as an occasional nightclub to transport you to higher states.
Kai Hugo, aka Palmbomen II, makes music to get your body moving, but with a clear song structure and story. His music finds its way into clubs, onto film soundtracks and perhaps to your living room, with at its heart the distinctive search for unusual harmonies and an absorbing groove. Live Palmbomen II sets his collection of old synths to narrative mode and departs on a surrealistic trip, direction unknown.
His nostalgic retrosound has already produced a couple of gems. Such as his albums ’Palmbomen II’ and 'Memories of Cindy’ both released via Beats in Space. With his fellow artist Betonkust he created the cult classic ‘Center Parcs LP’, released on the leading edge Dekmantel Records. An esoteric, electronic pop disc with hazy melodies, rough edges and hints of house.
On 21 December Palmbomen II will be bringing an arsenal of retro synths and sci-fi atmospheres to Braindance. Also on the bill: Modeselektor (live), Le Motel, λ°νμ§ park hye jin, Catnapp and many more.
