âBeyond the swampsâ-a film by Françoise Demey- is to be released on DVD very soon.
This film is a sublime documentary about American songstress and musician Beverly Jo Scott. The documentary was filmed in Alabama, her homeland, and introduces us to her origins, her inspiration as artist and her surprising passions.
On her veranda, we see her working on new songs for her next album. In a living room, she organises a âGuitar Pullâ - a musical fraternity, surrounded by her musician friends.
From a wooden pontoon on the water or in her little yellow motorboat, she shares with us her unlikely passion for fishing.
Throughout the conversations, we are introduced to her philosophical confessions and get to know her family.
The unusual personality of Beverly Jo Scott - who casually allows us to become acquainted with her personal history and her music - tempts us to hear her, see her, listen to her and to understand her.
Here, we would like to give you foretaste:
Looks like the ideal preparation for her concert in AB on December 6.
We have one free copy to give away to the first person who gives the correct answer to the following question: Since when has BJ Scott been living in Belgium?
You can send your answer to: contests@abconcerts.be with BJ SCOTT mentioned in the subject title.
This film is produced by Fennec Productions, in co-production with Rtbf - Unité documentaires - (Wilbur Leguebe) and Clair-obscur Productions.
