Admittedly, on a musical level, Daft Punk and David Bowie dominated international agenda worldwide. As a result, both ran away with pretty much all the musical attention. Daft Punk did so â rather vexingly â with a cleverly planned, month-long PR-campaign. David Bowie caught everyone by surprise by unexpectedly presenting a brand new album.
But it is definitely Bill Callahan who really wins. His album âDream Riverâ has namely received praise and credit from influential music mag Mojo, receiveing the title âAlbum Of The Yearâ. Mojo put it well âPurely on the basis of media presence, both Bowie and Daft Punk should have been the shoe-ins for the top slot. But never underestimate the quiet ones, and the power of pure songwriting.â
We can do no less than abundantly support that. Bill Callahanâs concert in AB â planned on Tuesday 11 February 2014 â has, due to the great demand for tickets, now been changed from an AB Theatre show into an AB Flex. So be there on time. These sorts of concerts should be cherished in such dark days. And who are we to question Mojo?
