Brussels' cultural houses AB and BOZAR get together this fall for Norway Now, a programme in which contemporary – often extremely idiosyncratic – Norwegian culture forms the focal point. This programme will run from 1 November 2010 to 24 May 2011 and focuses not only upon classical music, literature, architecture, film, graphic design but also the ‘far reaches of Norwegian pop-music’. The Beursschouwburg, VK* and CINEMATEK also participate in order to throw light upon contemporary Norwegian culture in all its facets. This all takes place with the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgium. View the complete programme here, but be sure to read further if you have writing talent and would like to go to Oslo!
This winter will be different. Grander. More extreme! AB and BOZAR are namely looking for someone (m/f) who's not afraid to unravel not only the extreme upper circles but also the deepest core of Norwegian culture... and, indeed, from out of Brussels!
As talented 'chosen one' you will set up camp in AB and BOZAR, that guarantee you free passage for all events in the ‘Norway Now’ programme. You share your impressions with the wider world via the websites of the two cultural houses and also (after the completion of the entire happening) in ‘Select’ [Studio Brussel]. On top of all that, you will also put on your hiking boots and sharpen your writer's pencil to experience the real thing for free at the brilliant showcase festival ‘contests@abconcerts.be before 27 October and convince us of your motivation to make the very most of this opportunity. A video message, a recruiting text, a photo, a drawing,… everything goes but be especially sure to show us how much you really want to explore the extremes of the Norwegian culture. An AB & Bozar jury will then select the most remarkable entry.
