Well done: Egyptian Hip Hop does indeed not exactly fit in, being more of a pale trendy British sensation. An exotic sounding name like Yo La Tengo wouldn't fit in here either. But they both appeared in the AB last weekend. The concert hall where truly all sorts of things make it through the stringent selection procedure. All sorts of things, from all sorts of places. With unusual names! How do you pronounce them? Where do they keep coming from?
It'll be Babel Medin Marseille again in the fourth week of March. We'll be heading down.
But already on offer in the AB? In the Intercontinental section?
BOMBINOon Wednesday 10 April! Finally with their Dan -Black Keys- Auerbach produced new CD: Nomad (here via Warner.) With a single this time even: Azamane Tiliade! Nomad is bursting with very vibey desert blues, with a touch of country melancholy here and there even. Ry Cooder would probably also enjoy this!?
LA PEGATINAis coming to turn the Club upside down on Saturday 4 May with their weirdly insane LOL rock. Have just finished off their CD Eureka and, with it, a crazy, hyper-playful clip for first single Non é Facile too:
TERESA SALGUEIROwill be here on Friday 31 May. You're sure to know her from Madredeus. But that's already several years and five CDs ago. Now finally with her latest O Mistério out here too, via LC Music. The time was also ripe for a renewed acquaintance with the Belgian audience. So Teresa dropped by last week too, for a day of promo. We won't be able to avoid seeing and hearing her soon. Fortunately.
What's alway refreshing? TITI! Thierry Titi Robin with 'Les Rives'. On Monday 2 December though. So you've got a bit of time, to check out our site and discover the Indian, Turkish and Moroccan side-shoots of this wonderful project, for example. To meander a little, as it were.
Come on, be quick and get out of the house.
