Belgian-Congolese director, actor and musician Baloji has been chosen to take a shot at an Oscar with his first feature film, Augure.
Augure tells the tale of the Congolese Koffi, who was disowned by his mother for supposedly being a sorcerer. Many years later, he returns to Congo from Belgium accompanied by his girlfriend who is pregnant with twins. Only the couple is not exactly warmly welcomed.
This autumn, with Augurism, he is also curating an exhibition at the Fashion Museum Antwerp in which he aims to immerse visitors in his magical-realist universe through props, costumes and videos.
The four main characters also return in a new album composed of four EPs. On Tuesday 19 March, Baloji will present his new album in AB.
