ABCafé/Resto will be sending 7 cycling teams to the start of the 1000 km of Kom Op Tegen Kanker. Well-known faces like Freek Braeckman, Rick De Leeuw, Helmut Lotti (together with his wife Jelle Van Riet), Tomas De Soete, Sioen, and proud godfather of the campaign Jan Hautekiet,... will suffer sadle-sores for a good cause. Together they'll accrue 1000 cycling kilometres during the Ascension Day weekend, from 9 to 12 May 2013.
Why we're getting on our bikes? Each year, 36,000 Flemish people have to hear that they have cancer. Kom Op Tegen Kanker wants to collect money to improve the quality of life of cancer patients by supporting the research into organ and tissue-preserving treatment-strategies. ABCafé/Resto has been supporting this project for years now and, this year too, our runners are already oiling their bike chains in anticipation.
You too can assist in this campaign, by sponsoring our cycling teams! They must cough up at least 7 x 5000.00euro = 35000.00 euro into the KOTK bank account.
That can happen in various ways:
- Donate the 20 cent deposit that you receive for the return of an empty drink beaker in the AB.
- Buy a poster with a unique image of Belgian icons Arno and Eddy Merckx, for only 5 euro (at Arno concerts and in the abcafé !)
- Buy a signed photo by rock photographer Alex van Hee (Florence and the Machine, Tom Barman, Selah Sue, Milow,...)
- Or deposit a donation into bank account number 733-1999999-83 with mention of campaign number 170-003-485.
This way we can accumulate the money needed to be able to donate our starter's fee to Kom Op Tegen Kanker.
Make the difference with us, Kom Op Tegen Kanker, and support our AB cycling teams!
