What’s going on in the heads of generations X, Y, Z and beyond? To find an answer to that question, and to create a genuine connection young people, AB is setting up its own youth laboratory. Youth L’AB directs itself specifically to the multilingual youth of Brussels.  

For the first working season of Youth L’AB, AB searched for six committed, multi-talented young people who feel a strong connection to music. Jarno (20), Angela (20), Mariam (24), Daan (19), Anne (21) and Albin (18) have recently formed an independent team that will work together with the AB team until the end of June. AB commits to offering every member of the Youth L’AB team the space and support to develop according to their personal interests and vision of the future. 

Depending on what the young people want to achieve with AB, they’ll work together with the promotion, programming, or production team. They’ll be encouraged to pitch their ideas & wishes and will then receive the guidance necessary to realise these. By doing so, AB hopes to convey valuable knowledge about the concert and event sector and to stimulate the talent and enthusiasm of younger generations. 

AB also takes advice from the Youth L’AB team about what young people find important and interesting, and how best to reach them. This way we can tailor what we offer to what urban youth need. Curious about what will result from this project? We are too! Aside from being something new, it is also a work in progress and that is exactly what makes it so exciting.
