Battles! Gogo Penguin! Mbongwana Star! These are only a few of the names (and attention getters) appearing on the bill of the brand new indoor spring festival that AB will be launching at the end of March, one whereby the focus is on musical limitlessness.
What’s more! AB makes a point of launching a new festival whereby we can easily program all sorts of genres together. From jazz (brand new Blue Note-act GoGo Penguin, Belgian revelation De Beren Gieren , and Sweden’s Fire! feat. Mats Gustafsson) to contemporary avant garde electronica (Lotic, M.E.S.H. and Visionist). From global sounds (Congo’s Mbongwana Star that made it into all the influential year-end charts in ’15) to contemporary classical (Michael Price Trio ). And from punk (Belgium’s Cocaïne Piss) to contemporary Americana (America’s Joan Shelly and Zeelandic Flander’s Broeder Dieleman).
The entire (adventurous) programme has now been completed and the bill is adorned by no less than 24 names. You can find an overview of the whole programme here.
