Zornik first released the single 'Love Affair' 10 years ago, following a finals placing in 'Humo's Rock Rally'. That was the start of a successful roller-coaster ride through Belgium's musical scenery. 5 albums and a Best Of were all good for gold or platinum, 8 number 1 hits in De Afrekening, 2 MIA’s, 13 TMF Awards, 4 times Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop and hundreds of other concerts. After all these years Zornik still stands for pure, unadulterated rock class. On 29 October 2011 Zornik wants to reward its fans with a masterly concert in de AB. 10 years of rock history bundled into a not-to-be-missed exclusive anniversary show! Seeing as their previous concert in the ABClub last October was sold out in seven (7!) minutes you'd better be quick to buy your tickets.
At the end of last year Zornik released their fifth studio-album entitled ‘Satisfaction Kills Desire’. Each and every one of the singles ‘Walk’, ‘The Enemy’ and the recent ‘Pin Me Down’ were huge hits. The video clip for ‘The Enemy’ just recently bagged another important prize at the European Independent Film Awards in Paris.
Support is provided by the Canadian Young Galaxy whose third album ‘Shapeshifting’ is released in Europe on the Smalltown Supersound label. Their debut was released in 2007 on the Arts & Crafts label (see also Broken Social Scene and many others) while a second was self-released. If you had to describe the band, you would come up with references like Slowdive, Galaxie 500 and Pink Floyd. Producer Dan Lissvik from the Swedish band Studio has given ‘Shapeshifting’ a dreamy pop flavour.
