Yevgueni? That's right! Following their full-to-bursting ABBox for the release of 'We Zijn Hier Nu Toch', they now return for the première of their new CD: produced by none less than Stef Kamiel Carlens and planned for release in February 2011.
The AB brigade hasn't been able to gather more information than that for the moment. Permit us to inform you further as the date approaches, in the meantime:
Splendid chanson, sparkling pop. Perfectly comprehensible vocals for locals, as they play in very carefree Dutch. You're sure to be familiar with this enjoyable Yevgueni from those three terrific CDs 'Kannibaal', 'Aan De Arbeid' and 'We Zijn Hier Nu Toch' (on the Petrol label). Or from their triumph in the final of Zo Is Er Maar Eén with a wonderful Louis Neefs cover. Or from the cheery visits to Boterhammen In Het Park (with their heart-warming Wim De Craene approach, amongst other things). Or from numerous concerts in or near our country, including that Nekka Nacht aside Zjef Van Uytsel.
Yevgueni you say? They're quite simply unique. Be sure to pronounce it 'yev key-nee' and know that they are currently a quartet: Klaas Delrue, Geert Noppe, Maarten van Mieghem, Stef Vanstraelen and Patrick Steenaerts.
