Fine chanson, pearly pop, and quite comprehensible speech, as it is in extremely playful Dutch. Of course you know the likeable Yevgueni from those two superb CDs 'Kannibaal' and 'Aan De Arbeid' (on the Petrol label). Or from that triumph, with the beautiful Louis Neefs cover, in the final of Zo Is Er Maar Eén. Or from those cheering shows at Boterhammen In Het Park (including their heart-warming Wim De Craene approach). Or from the many concerts locally and slightly further afield (including those two sold-out ABClubs in Spring 2007.)
Spring 2009 the new, third, CD will be expected. It will be daringly presented in a sure-to-be-packed AB Box, just before they depart on a national tour (including the next Nekka Nacht next to Zjef Van Uytsel.)
Yevgueni, you say? Simply unique. Best pronounced 'ie jev kéenie' and know that they are currently a quintet: Klaas Delrue, Geert Noppe, Maarten van Mieghem, Stef Vanstraelen and Patrick Steenaerts. For the Yevgueni-intimi: also curious if they're going to commit a Robbie III?
