BBC’s Sound Of 2015 laureate mixes pop & R&B with 90’s house
That it won't take Years & Years for this British electro-pop trio to break through has been obvious since they placed First in the influential BBC Sound Of 2015. Toppers like Sam Smith, Adele, Keane, 50 Cent, Ellie Goulding and Haim went before them, each and every one dominated radio playlists and charts for up to several years after their win.
Their R&B, 90’s house and sultry electro-soul laced singles ‘Take Shelter’ and ‘Desire’, with the mesmerizing and androgynous voice of figurehead/actor Olly Alexander (who also lent his voice to the The Magician’s summer song ‘Sunlight’), were spun in high rotation at a bundle of radio stations throughout the country and new single ‘King’ is destined the same fate.
