David Eugene Edwards presents brand new work.
What is there still to say about Wovenhand, after so many years, so many flawless, fascinating and breathtaking performances? Frontman David Eugene Edwards has won us over many a time in our own house, with his previous band: 16 Horsepower. With Wovenhand the bar was set at least – we stress: at least! – as high. Our in-basket was loaded with the most worthy superlatives after every show.
Wovenhand is now onto his seventh piece of work, one bearing the name – or tongue twister if you like - ‘Refractory Obdurate’ and it will see the light of day at the end of April. An album that is, again, – we've been able to hear an advance copy – a unique and gorgeous patchwork of neo-folk, post rock, punk and alt. country. Be sure to bring your superlatives along, just to be on the safe side. David Eugene Edwards will receive them with pleasure.
No more perfect combination with Wovenhand imaginable than Belgium's pride: Flying Horseman. The reactions to their latest album ‘City Same City’ were outright unanimous praise! Lose points for arriving late. Even David Eugene Edwards will be checking on your presence.
