Winners of Bronze at HUMO’s Rock Rally 2010 present debut
Willow, a six member indie-rock band with roots in Leuven and Brussels, are fully exploring the border between pop and experiment. The late ’80's provide a fertile breeding ground for a fresh mix of moody riffs, warm synths, nimble drum parts and arresting vocals that result in ingenious pop songs.
Willow have been heading right for young stardom since 2009. The six then seized gold at Rockvonk, Flemish-Brabant's pop contest. In 2010 it got even better: the jury of Humo’s Rock Rally commemorated them with third place and the audience added to that the KBC Audience Prize.
The band has provided support acts to the likes of Editors and has made appearances at international showcase-festivals. They've taken the time to work further on their debut album (producer: Jo Francken), which will be released in early March.
Young Colour consists of 2 lovers of finely-woven sound-carpets, psychedelic pop, dub, ambient and other music genres in which a feeling for rippling rhythms, mood and meaningful silences can be of capital importance. Are also competing for a spot in the finals at HUMO's Rock Rally this year.
