The Hits Tour
When UB40 formed in the late 1970s, reggae was in full swing. It soon became clear that a group of musicians from Birmingham could create southern vibes as infectious as Jamaica's, and the band scored hit after hit: 'Red Red Wine', 'Kingston Town', 'Cherry Oh Baby' and the cover of 'I Got You Babe' with Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde. They have sold over 70 million records, played on stages all over the world and were recently introduced to the Music Walk of Fame in Camden High Street (London). Not bad for a bunch of Brummies. UB40 featuring Ali Campbell is also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the legendary record 'Labour of Love', which helped the band break through in 1983. In other words: a big party on on the first of April when the Brits come to our country.
