True Bypass, the band consisting of Chantal Acda (Sleepingdog, Isbells) and Craig Ward (ex-dEUS), released their 2nd album at the end of 2012. ‘Toby’ (Jezus Factory / Rough Trade) is an intimate album for which Acda and Ward worked with British writer Toby Litt, whose texts have been used to base the songs upon.
In Acda’s words: “‘Toby’ is a folk album: Craig and I write songs in a traditional, artisanal manner, with two guitars. Few arrangements, close to the ground”.
During their tour, early this year, they’ll also be bringing a little warmth, in these dark winter days, to the intimate environs of Huis23.
