Blues? Soul? Rock-Chanson? Passion! & New CD: Porta Bohemica
Trixie Whitley has completed her second CD: Porta Bohemica, and finally returns to where she also once ‘debuted’ with Black Dub.
What a mix, that Trixie: born in Ghent, at home in New York, daughter to the immensely illustrious Chris Whitley, and acclaimed by the likes of Daniel Lanois... We saw her develop behind the drums, the DJ panel, as dancer... We already appreciated her guitar playing and melted at hearing her voice.
In 2013, we saw the release of her first, rather phenomenal CD Fourth Corner: a unique combination of blues nuances, urban and soul influences, all stunningly honestly and almost frailly presented.
It already provided her with world tours, or a MIA, or a spot on the bill of Pukkelpop 2015. Plus, in the past, already many a full hall like the AB, quasi effortlessly.
