A finger-lickin' good night of metal
Trivium (us)
Together with bands like Coheed & Cambria, Killswitch Engage and Atreyu, Florida's Trivium proves that you don't have to chose between metal and emo. Trivium’s big asset is charismatic singer/guitarist Matthew Heafy who, together with guitarist Corey Beaulieu, displays a keen song-writing virtuosity. The band took a great leap forward on their album ‘The Crusade’ (‘06) and came to keep the company of great names like Metallica and Iron Maiden. This will now be Trivium’s 4th visit since their 1st visit to the AB Club in ’05.
As I Lay Dying (Very Special Guest) (us)
Very special guests this evening are the Americans (from San Diego) metalcore band As I Lay Dying. What's striking: the band members are firmly believing Christians but they say that they don't play Christian Rock. The band has already been around since ’00 and has now released 5 albums, of which the most recent - ‘The Powerless Rise’ - was released in ’10. In ‘08 they were even nominated for Grammy Award for their song ‘Nothing Left’.
Caliban (d)
German band Caliban is a fivesome that swears by metalcore. Their CV is adorned by no less than 8 albums to date and two split-albums with Heaven Shall Burn.
Upon A Burning Body (us)
San Antiono (Texas, US) delivers us the American heavy metal band Upon A Burning Body. Their latest album ‘Red. White. Green.’ even debuted this year in the Billboard 200.
